Aerospace Structural Engineer

🏢 Boeing • 📍 Charleston, SC

About Boeing

As a leading global aerospace company, Boeing develops, manufactures and services commercial airplanes, defense products and space systems for customers in more than 150 countries.

The Mission: Defying Gravity

Think of an airplane as a giant, flying bird made of millions of metal parts. Your job is to make sure that bird is strong enough to fly through storms but light enough to stay in the air without using too much fuel. As a Structural Engineer, you analyze the 'bones' of the airplane (the wings and the body) to ensure they never break, even under extreme pressure. You help safely transport millions of people across oceans.

Daily Tasks

  • Perform stress analysis on aircraft components using advanced simulation software.
  • Evaluate new materials like carbon fiber composites for future aircraft models.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to solve production challenges on the assembly line.
  • Ensure all designs meet strict FAA safety and quality standards.

Compensation

Base salary: $110,000 - $165,000. Benefits include a massive pension plan, flight discounts, and paid time off for volunteering.

Requirements

Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering. Experience with CAD software and finite element analysis (FEA) is essential.
