Cybersecurity Analyst (Threat Detection)

🏢 Google • 📍 New York, NY

Role Summary

Google Cloud Security is looking for a Cybersecurity Analyst to protect our infrastructure from global threats. Based in our New York City office, you will be part of the front-line defense team that keeps millions of users' data safe from hackers.

What is Cybersecurity?

Think of Google as a giant, high-tech bank where people store their digital treasures (photos, emails, documents). Hackers are like digital burglars trying to find a way in. Your job is to be the security guard who stays awake all night, watching the cameras and checking the locks. You look for any suspicious behavior—like someone trying to open a door that should be locked—and you stop them before they can get inside.

Main Tasks

  • Monitor system logs for signs of unauthorized access or security breaches.
  • Perform regular 'stress tests' on our networks to find weak spots.
  • Develop automated tools to detect and block malicious software (malware).
  • Train other employees on how to keep their passwords and devices safe.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field. Professional certifications like CISSP or CEH are a plus. You should have a deep curiosity about how systems work and how they can be broken.
