The Role: Mastering the Algorithm
Have you ever wondered how Spotify knows exactly which song you want to hear next? That is the magic of the Personalization team. As a Backend Engineer, you build the 'engine' that powers recommendations like Discover Weekly. You handle massive streams of data from millions of listeners and turn them into a unique musical journey for every single person. You make sure the music never stops and always feels personal.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and scale high-performance services using Java and Apollo (Graph-QL).
- Work closely with data scientists to implement machine learning models into production.
- Optimize data pipelines that process billions of events daily.
- Ensure the reliability and low latency of our recommendation engines.
Compensation & Perks
Salary range: $165,000 - $225,000. Spotify is a 'Work from Anywhere' company. We offer extensive learning opportunities, 6 months of paid parental leave, and a highly inclusive culture.
Requirements
Strong experience with Java or Scala. Deep understanding of distributed systems and passion for the audio streaming industry.
